Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on the United States to impose new sanctions on Russia immediately, following recent deadly attacks. Speaking at the European YES-forum in Kyiv, Zelenskyy expressed frustration with the speed of decision-making regarding sanctions. The US House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on a new sanctions package next week, which was initially proposed by the late Senator Lindsey Graham and already approved by the Senate. However, the package still requires approval from the House. Concerns exist among politicians from both parties regarding potential increased costs for American citizens due to the sanctions. Some Republicans are particularly worried about political repercussions ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
