Several young people gained unauthorized access to the heating infrastructure in Sigulda, Latvia. The group released water from the pipes, causing significant damage to the city's centralized heat supply system. According to the company Adven Latvija, more than ten cubic metres of hot water were lost during the incident. The breach put the safety of the involved youths at risk due to the exposure to high-temperature water. Adven Latvija reported the damage to Latvian Television on June 22. The incident highlights vulnerabilities in the city's heating infrastructure. Local authorities are now addressing the security of the system.
