Yango, a global technology group and ride-hailing service, has released its 2024-2025 Safety Report highlighting advancements in passenger and driver safety across Africa, including Cameroon. The report links improvements to upgraded privacy technologies, anti-fraud systems, and 24/7 emergency assistance. In partnership with the cities of Douala and Yaoundé, Yango held safety and wellness events for over 100 drivers, combining app feature training with free health check-ups. These events fostered direct communication between drivers, local authorities, and Yango safety experts. A similar event is planned for September 2026, expanding the program’s reach within the country. Regionally, new driving style analysis and speed control measures resulted in a 38% decrease in dangerous driving incidents. Yango’s efforts demonstrate a commitment to safer mobility throughout Africa.
