A World War II-era explosive device detonated near the Plopsaland theme park in Coo, Belgium, injuring three people. Two visitors and one staff member sustained minor injuries – one person with a leg wound from debris, and two with ear pain. The explosion occurred along the banks of the Amblève river, adjacent to the park in Stavelot. Authorities quickly cordoned off the riverbank area, but Plopsaland remained open to the public. The Belgian army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit (DOVO) was deployed to remove the remnants of the device and search for further unexploded ordnance. Initial assessments suggest the explosive originated from the Second World War.
