Construction of the Winneba Junction Interchange is disrupting travel along the Winneba-Accra Highway, causing delays and hazardous conditions for drivers. The project is part of the government’s broader infrastructure initiative, dubbed the “Big Push.” While currently posing challenges with dust and difficult driving, the interchange aims to improve traffic flow and road safety upon completion. Authorities anticipate the completed project will significantly reduce travel time for those commuting between major cities including Accra, Winneba, Cape Coast, Takoradi, and Kumasi. The upgrade is expected to benefit commuters travelling to and from various parts of the country. Despite current inconveniences, the long-term benefits are projected to outweigh the temporary disruptions.
