Intense wildfires are raging across Spain and France, forcing the evacuation of nearly 260,000 people. In France, over 167,000 have been evacuated from the Girona region, where 32,700 hectares have burned, and another 31,000 from Landes, with 3,500 hectares lost. The situation is also critical in Spain, where 60,000 have been evacuated from the Madrid and Ávila regions. An additional 28,000 residents are currently confined to their homes due to the ongoing threat. Authorities are battling to contain the blazes as hot, dry conditions exacerbate the risk.
