Four wild cats – Bedřich, Anežka, Viktorka, and Hugo – have been fitted with GPS tracking collars in the Czech Forest Protected Landscape Area. The cats were captured in March and April of this year as part of a research project. These collars will allow experts to monitor the movements of these rare animals for one year, providing valuable data on their behavior and habitat use. The collars are designed to detach automatically after the monitoring period concludes. This initiative aims to improve understanding and conservation efforts for wild cats in the Czech Republic. The data collected will contribute to strategies for protecting this vulnerable species and its environment.
