Two mosques on the occupied West Bank were set ablaze Wednesday by suspected Israeli settlers, according to reports. The incidents occurred in the villages of Jiljilya, north of Ramallah, and another undisclosed location. Witnesses report that slogans were also spray-painted on the walls of one of the mosques. According to the village council leader, Osama Abdullah, the arson in Jiljilya targeted the area used for ritual cleansing before prayer. The Israeli military (IDF) confirmed the fires and graffiti but has not yet identified the perpetrators. The attacks come amid heightened tensions in the region and a rise in violence involving settlers and Palestinians. No injuries were reported.
