A Warsaw city council member and physician, Dawid Kacprzyk, reportedly earned 1.6 million złoty last year from public healthcare facilities. This substantial income has drawn criticism from Joanna Wicha, a Left party MP and experienced nurse, who questioned the feasibility of working over 330 hours per month to achieve such earnings. Wicha expressed disbelief regarding Kacprzyk’s workload, suggesting the figure raises concerns. Kacprzyk is affiliated with the Civic Coalition (KO) party. The comments were made to the “Fakt” newspaper, sparking public debate about physician compensation and workload within the Polish public healthcare system. The situation prompts questions about potential conflicts of interest and the allocation of resources within Warsaw’s healthcare sector.
