Viktoriia Honcharuk, a former Wall Street banker, has left her career to serve as a combat medic in Ukraine. Driven by a sense of responsibility following the outbreak of war, she returned to her homeland to contribute directly to the defense effort. Honcharuk stated her decision stemmed from a desire to ensure a future for potential children, wanting to be able to say she did everything in her power to secure it. She felt compelled to act rather than remain uninvolved in the conflict. Her story highlights the significant life changes many Ukrainians have undertaken in response to the Russian invasion.
