Volvo is recalling over 64,000 vehicles globally, including 2,461 in Norway, due to a potential battery overheating issue. The recall affects Volvo XC40 Recharge plug-in hybrid models T4 and T5. A charging fault could lead to battery overheating, and in rare instances, potentially cause a fire. Volvo is advising affected owners to discontinue charging their vehicles until they have been inspected at a workshop. The company initiated the recall after identifying the defect. Henrik Juel Teige, Volvo’s press contact, confirmed the Norwegian figures to NRK. Owners are urged to contact their local Volvo dealership to schedule a free inspection and repair.
