Vietnamese mobile retailer Thế Giới Di Động (The World of Mobile) announced a 1 billion Vietnamese đồng (approximately $40,000 USD) scholarship fund on June 20th. The pledge was made during the opening ceremony of the Techworld 2026 event held in Ho Chi Minh City. The scholarship program, titled “Cùng con đi tiếp cuộc đời” (roughly translated as “Accompanying Children on Their Life’s Journey”), aims to support orphaned students. The funds will be allocated as scholarships to help these students continue their education. Đoàn Văn Hiểu Em, CEO of Điện Máy Xanh (Green Electric), a subsidiary of Thế Giới Di Động, presented a symbolic representation of the donation at the event. The Techworld 2026 event was hosted at the Tân Bình Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City’s Tân Sơn Nhất ward.
