A member of the Quốc hội (National Assembly) from Hưng Yên province, Lê Thị Thúy Sen, has proposed a novel approach to mobilizing công trình (infrastructure) bonds. Sen suggested researching new solutions centered on leveraging national pride to encourage investment. The proposal specifically emphasizes “activating” patriotic sentiment among citizens to stimulate demand for these bonds. This initiative aims to address challenges in raising capital for vital infrastructure projects within Vietnam. The lawmaker believes appealing to citizens’ love for the country could significantly increase participation in the bond market. Further study is needed to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of this approach to funding national development. It represents an unconventional strategy to overcome financial hurdles in infrastructure development in Hưng Yên and across Vietnam.
