The proposed change aims to mitigate the impact of extreme heat on students and potentially reduce strain on school infrastructure. Emmerling, who also serves as a Vice Mayor, believes an earlier break is a practical solution to the growing issue. Austria’s Education Minister Wiederkehr has indicated he will review the proposal.
