Adrian Veștea, Romania’s designated Prime Minister, has nominated Diana Morar for a Deputy Prime Minister position without a portfolio. This nomination is considered surprising, as Morar previously appeared on the candidate list proposed by Tomac’s cabinet for the position of Minister of Labor, before that mandate was submitted. Veștea will present his government lineup to Parliament for a vote, including Morar alongside Alina Gorghiu as Deputy Prime Ministers without portfolios. Morar has a previous affiliation with the National Liberal Party (PNL). The inclusion of these two individuals signals Veștea’s initial approach to forming a governing coalition. The parliamentary vote will determine whether Veștea’s proposed government, including these key appointments, will be approved.
