Karel Barták, a long-time foreign correspondent for the Czech Press Agency (ČTK), has died at the age of 72. He dedicated 28 years to the agency, serving as a permanent correspondent in Paris, Moscow, and Brussels. For over a decade from Brussels, Barták focused on reporting about the European Union and NATO, closely following the Czech Republic’s integration into both organizations. Following his departure from ČTK, he continued his career with a twelve-year tenure at the European Commission. His family announced his passing on Thursday.
