The Venezuelan Penal Forum has reported that 322 political prisoners remain in detention awaiting release. The non-governmental organization (ONG) detailed that 182 of those imprisoned are civilians, while the remaining 140 are members of the military. This data represents those still awaiting excarcelation, highlighting ongoing concerns about political imprisonment in Venezuela. The Penal Forum further reported they currently have no information regarding the whereabouts of one of the incarcerated individuals. This lack of transparency adds to the anxieties surrounding the treatment of political detainees. These figures underscore the continuing human rights challenges faced in Venezuela, despite ongoing international scrutiny.
