India has initiated its first export of Varanasi-made biscuits to Oman, sending a 40-metric-tonne shipment. This marks a significant milestone under the India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The export highlights the growing trade relationship between the two nations and aims to boost the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Union Minister Piyush Goyal announced the development, underscoring the CEPA’s role in opening new avenues for Indian exporters. This move is expected to create opportunities for businesses in the Varanasi region and contribute to increased economic activity. It demonstrates the potential for regionally manufactured goods to compete in international markets due to favorable trade agreements. The shipment signifies a positive step towards strengthening economic ties and expanding India’s export footprint in the Gulf region.
