The 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification is underway in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. A “Green Zone” opened today as part of the conference, aiming to openly share information about the event's significance and impact. This zone serves as an interactive space connecting citizens, the private sector, civil society, youth, and research institutions. Its purpose is to showcase environmental solutions, innovation, best practices, and collaborative efforts to the public. Visitors can access the Green Zone through the National Botanical Garden and will be transported via electric carts; identification is required for entry. The Green Zone will be open to the public until August 28th, and a dedicated mobile application provides schedules, speaker information, and venue details in both Mongolian and English.
