The Governor of Ulaanbaatar, B.Purevdagva, has cancelled permits for a 6,000 square meter land plot near the Zhukov Museum in the Bayanzurkh district. The land, previously designated for construction, was held by five companies through a series of transfers dating back to a 2006 district order. The decision aims to return the area to public ownership and transform it into a park and recreational space for residents. Governor Purevdagva stated the land was formerly public property and had been fenced off for over a decade, contradicting the city’s policy of prioritizing pedestrian-friendly urban development. Authorities have been tasked with initiating landscaping and improvement works. The move reflects a broader commitment to avoid high-density residential construction and increase green spaces, including playgrounds, in ger districts. The initiative was announced by the Public Relations and Information Department of the Capital City Governor’s Office.
