A non-venomous snake named Olinka has become a local celebrity in Ivano-Frankivsk, western Ukraine, after spending two years on the front lines with Ukrainian soldiers. Rescued by two military personnel, Olinka lived in a bunker within the conflict zone for approximately two years, becoming an unofficial mascot. The snake now resides at the “Public Initiative of Galicia” organization headquarters, where she has lived for the past ten months. Reports indicate Olinka even sustained an injury – a broken tail tip – during her time alongside the troops. Her story has garnered attention as a unique symbol of companionship and resilience amidst the ongoing war. Public broadcaster Suspilne first reported on Olinka’s unusual journey and current life.
