Warsaw police from the Praga Południe and Praga Północ districts have detained a 19-year-old Ukrainian citizen suspected of attempting to defraud an elderly resident out of 80,000 złoty (approximately €20,000) using an "investor" scam. The suspect targeted a senior citizen in the Wawer district, attempting to trick him into a fraudulent investment scheme. Fortunately, the victim did not lose any money due to the swift action of law enforcement. Authorities apprehended the individual "in the act" of attempting the scam. A court has since ordered the suspect to be held in temporary arrest while the investigation continues. This case highlights the vulnerability of seniors to investment fraud and the importance of vigilance.
