Ukraine’s Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has been dismissed by President Zelensky, according to Ukrainian media reports, after just six months in office. Fedorov stated serving as Defence Minister was a great honour but offered no explanation for his departure. This cabinet reshuffle marks the fifth since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, following the recent dismissal of the Prime Minister. In his statement, Fedorov highlighted 22 achievements of the armed forces under his leadership, including a significant enhancement of drone capabilities and improved air defence systems. He is known as the driving force behind Ukraine’s drone warfare strategy, focusing on disrupting Russian supply lines. Former Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko is reportedly being considered to take over the Defence portfolio.
