Ukrainian airstrikes have damaged several bridges connecting the Crimean peninsula to the Russian-occupied Kherson region, according to officials appointed by Moscow. Vladimir Saldo, the head of the Kherson region, reported damage to bridges spanning the North Crimean Canal near Preobrazhenka and Mirne, as well as the Perekop-Armyansk and Stavkі bridges. Assessments of the damage are currently underway. These bridges became crucial supply routes after the Chongar bridge, located in the northeast of the peninsula, was closed earlier in the week due to Ukrainian strikes. Over the past month, Ukraine has increasingly targeted military and logistical vehicles traveling from Russia to Crimea using drones, leading to fuel shortages on the peninsula. While the Kerch Bridge remains the primary link to Russia, restrictions on transporting dangerous goods have increased reliance on the northern bridges. Ukraine recently warned that its expanding strike range could render the Kerch Bridge unusable for military supplies. President Zelenskyy stated Ukraine has inflicted $40 billion in damages to Russian and occupied territories through the use of its Unmanned Systems Forces.
