Ukraine is utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance the effectiveness of its long-range drone strikes. The Defense Ministry reports AI is integrated into systems allowing drones to operate without GPS reliance. This technology helps the drones circumvent Russian electronic warfare efforts designed to jam or disrupt guidance systems. Crucially, AI assists in target identification during the critical final stages of flight, improving precision. These “middle strike” systems are reportedly being used to reach targets deep within Russian-controlled territory. The integration of AI represents a significant advancement in Ukraine’s drone warfare capabilities, allowing for more reliable and accurate attacks despite electronic countermeasures.
