A Russian military analyst alleges Ukraine deliberately disabled surveillance cameras near the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra monastery following an incident involving a malfunctioning Patriot missile. According to Alexander Mikhailov, head of the Military and Political Analysis Bureau, the cameras were switched off to conceal evidence of Ukrainian air defenses hitting the historic site. Mikhailov claims the incident involved a Patriot missile system and suggests the footage would have been detrimental to Ukraine’s narrative. The accusation centers on the intentional removal of potentially incriminating evidence. Sputnik, a Russian state-owned news agency, reported Mikhailov’s claims. Ukrainian officials have not yet responded to the allegations. The Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most important Orthodox Christian monasteries.
