Two men have been sentenced to prison for arson attacks targeting properties linked to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Roman Lavrynovych, a 22-year-old Ukrainian citizen, received a seven-year sentence, while Stanislav Karpuk, a 27-year-old Romanian citizen of Ukrainian origin, was sentenced to two years. The court determined the attacks were acts of sabotage commissioned by Russian agents. Lavrynovych received instructions via Telegram from a user named “EL” and had previously been paid to distribute far-right propaganda. Karpuk assisted in the arson attacks, which included the burning of a car and fires at properties associated with Starmer in Kentish Town and Islington. Following the attacks, “EL” instructed Lavrynovych to dispose of clothing and leave the city, promising cryptocurrency payment. Lavrynovych was arrested before he could flee, claiming ignorance of Starmer’s identity and the targeted properties. Karpuk was apprehended while attempting to fly to Romania.
