Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), has emphasized the need to improve the quality of higher education in Bangladesh. He stated that while improving international rankings is important, the primary focus should be on enhancing research capabilities. There is a critical need to increase the employability of students to meet market demands. The UGC is actively working toward establishing Bangladesh as a hub for higher education. These goals aim to ensure that degrees translate into practical skills for graduates. By balancing prestige with quality, the commission hopes to elevate the national academic standard. The chairman shared these views during an event held in Dhaka on Monday.
