Ugandan organization Union has launched “Kili Clear,” a new line of sanitary pads aimed at increasing accessibility for girls and women across the country. The initiative addresses the widespread issue of period poverty, where a lack of affordable and quality sanitary products creates barriers to education and daily life. Research indicated a significant gap in the market for reasonably priced, quality pads within Uganda. “Kili Clear” is the result of extensive study and development by Union, seeking to provide a solution to this long-standing problem. The launch aims to remove obstacles faced by thousands of Ugandan women and girls due to menstruation. The organization hopes this initiative will improve access and promote menstrual hygiene management. Further details about distribution and pricing were not immediately available.
