Chris Obore, the former Director of Communications and Public Affairs of the Parliament of Uganda, and six co-accused have been granted bail by the Anti-Corruption Court in Kampala. The seven individuals were facing charges related to the alleged misappropriation of Shs27.2 billion at Parliament. Justice Michael Elubu delivered the ruling on Wednesday, following the review of their applications and legal submissions. The accused had been in custody for two months awaiting the court’s decision on their bail requests. This development marks a significant turn in the ongoing case, allowing Obore and his co-accused to await trial outside of custody.
