Ugandan athlete Charity Cherop added to her medal haul at the 2026 World Athletics Under-20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon, securing a bronze medal in the women’s 3,000m. This achievement comes shortly after she won gold in the 5,000m event. Cherop finished the 3,000m race with a time of 8:45.59 in a competitive final. The race was won by Ethiopia’s Yordanos Tsigab, who clocked 8:43.65. Her fellow Ethiopian, Shito Gumi, also placed in the competition.
