John Baptist Sekubulwa’s solo exhibition, “Unknown Occupant,” recently opened at the Naguru Summit Residences in Kampala, Uganda. The artwork centers on the inherent contradictions of human existence, specifically the interplay between being seen and remaining unknown. Sekubulwa utilizes symbolism throughout the show to convey this complex theme. The exhibition delves into the ambiguity of life and the constant negotiation between individual identity and collective anonymity. “Unknown Occupant” aims to provoke reflection on how individuals navigate visibility in a modern context. The show is currently on display and offers a unique artistic perspective on the human condition.
