A 20-year-old man, Emmanuel Kyakabaale Tayebwa, was arrested in Masindi district, Uganda, for allegedly attempting to bribe UPDF recruitment officers. The incident occurred on Tuesday at the Masindi district headquarters during the ongoing army recruitment screening process. Tayebwa, a resident of Kimengo sub-county, reportedly offered a bribe of Shs 20,000 (approximately $5.30 USD). The UPDF recruitment team apprehended him, highlighting a zero-tolerance stance towards corruption during recruitment.
