Hundreds of Ugandans participated in the second annual Independence Marathon held at Metroplex Shopping Mall in Naalya on Sunday. The event, sponsored by Stanbic, aimed to raise support and awareness for improved maternal healthcare under the theme “Save a Mother.” Runners competed in various distances including 42-kilometre, 21-kilometre, 10-kilometre, and 5-kilometre races. The marathon attracted both professional athletes and recreational runners alike. Proceeds from the event will be directed towards bolstering maternal health initiatives within Uganda.
