A UFC fight night is scheduled to take place at the White House on July 14th, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of US Independence Day and President Trump’s 80th birthday. Construction of a 30-meter stage and lighting systems began in May to prepare the South Lawn for the event, which officials have now declared ready. Originally planned for 25,000 spectators, capacity has been reduced to 5,000 due to security concerns. The event, branded “USA FREEDOM 250,” will feature 14 UFC fighters. The main event will pit Ilia Topuria of Spain (Georgian descent) against Justin Gaethje of the United States. The event marks an unprecedented use of the White House grounds for a professional mixed martial arts competition.
