A potential strike in Norway’s television industry has been avoided following a late-night agreement between employer organization Virke and the Film Union. Negotiations, mediated by the National Mediator, extended five hours past the deadline before a resolution was reached. The agreement concerns the annual wage settlement for the TV entertainment sector. Had an agreement not been reached, workers on popular programs such as “Farmen kjendis,” “71 grader nord kjendis,” “Shall We Dance,” “From Bully to Best Friend” and “Cooking School” would have walked off the job. The averted strike would have significantly disrupted television production schedules across the country. This agreement ensures continued production for these and other television programs.
