The Association Les Amis des Oiseaux (AAO) hosted a regional training session focused on the conservation of threatened waterbird species at Sebkhet Sejoumi in Tunisia on June 10, 2026. Approximately forty participants from six countries – including Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, and Libya – attended the event. The session aimed to build capacity for protecting these vulnerable bird populations. Sebkhet Sejoumi was chosen as the location to highlight its importance as a key wetland habitat. The AAO facilitated the training as part of a broader effort to address the declining numbers of waterbirds in the region. This initiative underscores the growing international collaboration needed to safeguard biodiversity. Kapitalis first reported on this conservation focus.
