Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Minister of Communications and Transport, Edin Forto, has cautioned that stalled decisions regarding transport regulations could negatively affect both the Western Balkan economies and the wider European Union. The warning came during coordinated protests by professional transporters from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. Minister Forto emphasized the issue’s scope extends beyond the transport sector itself, demanding increased engagement from all relevant institutions. He suggests the delays are creating significant economic risks for the region. The protests highlight widespread concern amongst transporters about current policies and the need for swift resolution.
