The Keskus International Estonian Centre in Toronto is nearing completion and promises to become a central hub for the global Estonian diaspora. Project lead Ellen Valter emphasizes Keskus’s goal to encourage engagement, curiosity, and a sense of community among Estonians worldwide. Estonian World visited Toronto during KESKfEST, a festival originally planned to celebrate Keskus’s grand opening, located in the Annex neighbourhood. Despite some common complications with large-scale projects, the centre is progressing towards its intended purpose. Keskus aims to facilitate connections and foster a stronger sense of belonging for Estonians living outside of Estonia. Further details on the project and its vision can be found at Estonian World.
