Three people were killed and 36 wounded in attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia, authorities reported Wednesday. Yemen’s Houthis claimed responsibility for the attacks, including a ballistic missile strike on the Riyadh airport, as fighting intensifies with Saudi Arabia. The fatalities included one Egyptian and one Algerian national at Abha airport, and one Sudanese national at the Riyadh airport. The Saudi-led coalition responded by stating they destroyed the missile launch platform used in the attack on Riyadh. This escalation follows the resurgence of Yemen’s civil war in July, displacing over 200,000 people, according to the United Nations. Despite a government counter-offensive claiming gains near the Red Sea and Mocha, independent verification of territorial changes remains elusive.
