Thessaloniki’s metro system has fully resumed operations as of today, offering daily service from 5:15 AM to 11:00 PM, seven days a week. This marks a complete restart of the metro line following previous disruptions. Simultaneously, the city’s public transport authority, OASTH, has discontinued bus route M1. Passengers previously relying on the M1 bus will now need to utilize the newly operational metro or alternative bus routes. The metro’s return is expected to significantly improve public transportation options within the city. Officials anticipate reduced congestion and faster commutes for Thessaloniki residents. This coordinated change aims to integrate the metro into the broader public transport network.
