Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH) in Dodoma, Tanzania, has opened two new specialized clinics focused on addressing anaemia and heart complications during pregnancy. The initiative, launched by BMH Executive Director Prof Abel Makubi on Friday, seeks to combat increasing maternal mortality rates within the Dodoma Region. These clinics will concentrate on earlier and more accurate diagnoses, improved treatment protocols, and enhanced public awareness campaigns. The effort aims to strengthen overall maternal and child health services available in Dodoma. BMH hopes these clinics will significantly reduce risks associated with pregnancy and improve outcomes for mothers and their children. This expansion of services reflects a commitment to address critical healthcare gaps in the region.
