Tanzania’s Revenue Authority (TRA) is intensifying educational efforts regarding withholding tax (WHT) for businesses, consultants, and stakeholders. The initiative aims to enhance tax compliance and streamline administrative processes. TRA Kagera Regional Manager, Joseph Mutalemwa, stated the authority will proactively inform taxpayers of their responsibilities and assist with resolving tax-related issues. This renewed focus on education signals a move towards a more collaborative approach to tax collection. The TRA intends to simplify tax administration through increased understanding of WHT obligations. This effort is part of a broader strategy to improve revenue collection and support economic development in the Kagera region and beyond. The program will continue indefinitely to ensure ongoing compliance.
