A new book by researcher Nabil Touihri explores the economic and social history of Tangier, Morocco, between 1923 and 1956, a period of international administration. Touihri, a researcher at the Regional Center for Education and Training Professions in Fes-Meknes, describes the work as a continuation of scholarly research into Tangier’s history. The book aims to analyze how geopolitical factors shaped the city’s destiny during this era. It is presented not simply as a historical account, but as a resource for understanding the interplay between geography, politics, and urban development. The research delves into Tangier’s economic landscape under international control, offering insights into its societal structures. The book was recently published by Hespress, a Moroccan online newspaper.
