Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare is preparing to launch a health incentive program, dubbed “health coins,” potentially as early as the start of the new school year in September. The program aims to encourage citizens to adopt healthier lifestyles. Individuals can earn these coins by participating in four key activities: regular exercise, maintaining a healthy diet, undergoing preventative health screenings, and receiving vaccinations. Minister of Health and Welfare, Shih Chung-liang, indicated details regarding specific earning criteria are being finalized. The health coins can then be redeemed for various health-related products and services. This initiative seeks to proactively address public health concerns and promote preventative care within the Taiwanese population.
