Autopsies conducted on the six Italian victims of the recent avalanche in Crans-Montana reveal no evidence of alcohol intoxication. Investigators have determined the individuals were physically capable of escape, however, available exit routes were obstructed. The victims have been identified as Achille Barosi, Chiara Costanzo, Giovanni Tamburi, Riccardo Minghetti, Sofia Prosperi, and Emanuele Galeppini. Legal representatives for the families are now requesting authorities investigate the Moretti family – owners of the area where the avalanche occurred – for potential manslaughter with willful negligence. The focus of the investigation is shifting towards whether adequate safety measures were in place to prevent the tragedy. Further inquiries will determine if the Moretti family knowingly exposed the victims to a substantial risk. The findings suggest the incident was not simply an accident, but potentially a result of preventable circumstances.
