Sweden’s King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Saturday with a series of events in Stockholm. The couple, married since June 19, 1976, commenced the day with a church service at the Royal Chapel. Following the service, they participated in a boat parade along Stockholm’s waterways aboard the Vasaorden. A horse-drawn carriage procession then carried the royal couple through the city streets, allowing citizens to view and celebrate with them. King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway were among the guests attending the festivities. The day’s celebrations will conclude with a golden wedding anniversary concert at the Royal Opera.
