Marking World Refugee Day, the ongoing conflict in Sudan between the national army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues to displace civilians and fuel a humanitarian crisis. The conflict, entering its third year, has been marked by widespread violence against the civilian population, building on two decades of reported crimes. Alaa Busati, a Sudanese lawyer and activist, has been forced into exile in Marseille, France, due to the unrest. From abroad, she now dedicates her efforts to amplifying the voices of resistance within Sudan. Busati’s experience highlights the plight of Sudanese citizens caught in the power struggle between the military and the RSF. Her work aims to keep international attention focused on the situation and support the ongoing struggle for change in her homeland.
