A student leader from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)’s student wing in Netrokona’s Madan upazila faced disruption during a second marriage attempt after his first marriage was revealed to the bride’s family. The incident occurred Friday evening in a village within Kendua upazila’s Paikura union. Prior to the ceremony, the bride’s family discovered the leader was already married and intervened, preventing the wedding from proceeding. Following the disruption, local residents detained the groom and several members of his party. They were later released after agreeing to pay compensation, resolving the situation through negotiation. The leader had reportedly concealed information about his existing marriage.
