Twenty years after his death, Steve Irwin continues to inspire animal lovers and conservationists worldwide. Known as the "Crocodile Hunter," Irwin captivated audiences with his passion for wildlife and fearless approach to conservation. Dutch presenter Floris Göbel credits Irwin with sparking his own love for animals, leading him to a career in wildlife education and rescue. Göbel, and many others, felt deeply affected by Irwin’s untimely death as a child, recognizing the loss of a true hero. Irwin rose to international fame in the 1990s for his work studying and handling crocodiles, combined with his infectious enthusiasm. He aimed to dispel fear and foster respect for all creatures, demonstrated by his daring encounters with dangerous animals. Irwin tragically died after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb while filming a documentary.
